An adult that liked this movie
I saw this on TV so I missed out on the sound and feel of a Theater viewing. And I think that that is a sad thing. The graphics are great on the small screen so they must be amazing on the big.

The story was very good, though (for grown-ups) a bit predictable. Basically Tinker Bell (a warm weather fairy) wants to cross the border to the winter realm, which is against the rules. Similarly a Winter Fairy wants to see the warm realm. When these two get together the typical Tinker Bell problems ensue requiring fairies from both realms to come together to fix.

For the adults this is escapist entertainment with a mild political overtone. For the kids this is great entertainment with friendship, action, some adventure and just a touch of learning why we have rules.

My only negative comment is the song that played in the background throughout the movie. It is something about dividing or a divide. I don't usually comment on an individual's talent if I cannot do a better job, but whoever was singing that song needs to quit. The voice was like fingernails on a chalkboard and extremely distracting.

I would have given this movie a full 10 stars had it not been for the constant playing of that song.

"Secret of the Wings" takes Tinker Bell into the depths of the Winter world just in time for Christmas
Disney continues its "Fairies" franchise with the latest entry in the series, "Secret of the Wings." This marks the fourth movie and there doesn't look to be an end in sight with next year's addition already scheduled. Timing couldn't be better to release the newest sequel since it takes place in the land of Winter and would make the perfect gift for Christmas for any little girl.

A curious Tinker Bell ignores the rules of warm fairies and ventures into the forbidden world of winter. Her dangerous excursion leads her to uncover a mysterious secret and almost break a wing . A bizarre glow overcomes her wings during the quick visit, which drives Tinker Bell to return and delve deeper into the winter woods in search of the Keeper of all fairy knowledge.

"Secret of the Wings" looks fabulous. Its CG animation is clean and picture perfect. A greater amount of visual depth can be felt when watching the 3D version of the film. However, the 2D version is stunning as well. The color schemes are beautiful no matter if the screen is filled with striking whites or darker tones.

A perfect children's movie
Tinkerbell and the Secret of the Wings is ultimately and obviously a children's movie (For young girls in particular). From the dialog to the characters, the music and the colors, it is a movie all children would enjoy.

Although there have been many previous Tinkerbell movies, this one concentrates on Tinkerbell and her background. As Tinkerbell becomes fascinated with the forbidden Winter Forest and the Winter Fairies, she embarks on a journey of self discovery and adventure as we delve into her past and explore where she came from.

Like all Disney movies, this movie has big, bold colors, realistic textures, and of course, 3D. We see swooping shots of caricatured forests, glistening glaciers, and picturesque little animals. And once you get over the obviously cheesy dialog, it's actually not a bad film. I wouldn't see it on my own, but if you're looking for something to see with your 7 year old daughter/niece, it's the perfect choice. There's something there for both genders, and it has the feel-good factor of a classic Disney animation.

Although this is not as good as other Disney's movies, such as Up and How to Train Your Dragon, it's a nice, 'pretty' movie. Overlook the wincing humor, and enjoy this film with kids, who will no doubt find the wit hilarious. Try to make it a family day, overpriced popcorn and drinks included.

Im 22 yrs old and I really enjoyed this movie
I got this a while back as I enjoyed its 2010 prequel Tinkerbell and The Great Fairy Rescue and I really found this one HIGHLY entertaining.

Tinkerbell discovers another world where she's from called the winter valley and she decides to go check it out,but what she is about to discover are some secrets that no one told her about.... she really has another sister who is in fact her twin voiced by Lucy Hale called Periwinkle and the two discover the meaning of friendship and trust but one person in particular is not happy that Tinkerbell found her other half voiced by Timothy Dalton. So its up to Tinkerbell to show Periwinkle where she is from putting jeopardy at risk.

The story is really cute and the animation is gorgeous.Overall I really liked this film and im giving it an 8/10

Keep an eye out for the song Great Divide by The McClain Sisters. Its a nice song.

Charming fun for young 'uns
It does annoy me when films are judged under a complete misunderstanding of for whom they are intended. I can only imagine that the relatively low rating for this film on this site is due in most part due to viewers seeing this and forgetting it's aimed at 3 to 7 year old girls. I bet most of the voters aren't 3 to 7 year old girls.

I can only endorse the comments of the other posters so far who have all enjoyed it and whose children have enjoyed it. I took my 5 year old today and she loved it. We had only seen the previous Tinkerbells on DVD so I was a tad surprised to see this turn up in the cinema (but not in 3D - glory be!) but I thought it was a decent enough effort which pushed all the right buttons, in the right order, and didn't outstay its welcome. They say that when you notice the backgrounds in a film the plot has lost you, but in this case I don't think that's true; I found the contrasting depictions of the winter/summer fairy lands quite spectacular, adding to the film. Not to mention the animals' furs and feathers...! Good work.

Obviously as an Englishman and childhood fan of Peter Pan I baulk somewhat at the Disney version of Tinkerbell, but as a father of 5 year old Fairy-obsessive, it is what it is. And it does what it sets out to do - quite well, I think.

Mild spoiler: My daughter got upset when the sisters were told they could never see each other again; nevertheless there is no antagonism, peril or violence to put off younger children.

DVD is certainly its natural home, but of its type (and I don't mean anything bad by that) this is pretty good and I think young children would enjoy it very much. Some grown-ups might, too.

Kids will love it......
This movie is not as good as other tinker bell movies. But still i love this movie. Specially the climax, where it shows the original bonding of two sisters. The kiss shared between queen and lord milori was a nice shot. The whole new side of the fairy land. All new peoples. All new fun and all new works, makes this movie very special.

Children in my home are big fan of tinker bell.

Animation is really good. I conclude a message from the movie is ,love cannot be kept apart, whether it is the love of sisters. Tinker bell has a sister Periwinkle....wow...

I have seen the tinker bell series and i love the first part very much.

This movie deserves a watch and 9 stars.

A good story and great animation
I normally go to adult movies. But once in a while, with my little daughter, we decide to go to the theaters to discover the magic of animation. I do frequently criticize movies that do not have strong stories. And animated movies are part of those. But the four movies of Tinker Bell are outstanding. Not only because of the animation or the creativity involved in every situation, but specially because the story is normally so strong, and the characters are so well defined, that a sense of emotion comes from me and my family at the end of the movie, and when any movie touches you in some way, it has achieved its goal. Totally recommended for families and people who wants to discover something new in a classic story.

Find Magic Agan in the World of Fairies
I loved this movie. I don't have kids, but I love so many movies for kids because many of them are safe for viewing and they hold a magic absent from adult movies. I didn't find this one to have those ever increasing double entendre jokes that are meant to entertain adults with their children. I also like that there wasn't a villain, unless you would consider the quickly approaching freeze line a villain.

I didn't find the dialogue cheesy like others have mentioned. I found the animation to be spectacular, the story simple and pleasing (who needs complicated stories anyway? We have enough of those in our own world.), and the characters vibrant. I did have two points of contention. First, the first Tinker Bell movie depicts winter fairies when Tinker Bell is born and then chooses her talent. One of them puts a snowflake in the talent circle. They seem to be fine and aren't in danger of their wings wilting. The minister of winter flies with other warm fairies outside of the winter woods and seems fine, too. As a reviewer elsewhere stated, how do they fly to the mainland to bring winter if they can't get warm? Second, there is a character who is a comic relief that seems like he was fashioned after pothead/stoner characters, which I don't like. At one point he is meditating yogi style to bring back the pixie dust. I would rather see a praying character, as they are rare, but as Disney doesn't eliminate them entirely from other movies, I'll hold my peace on this one.

Overall, though, I really liked this movie. I can overlook my points of contention because there is enough to redeem the film.

Another one of Tinker Bell's adventures.
I enjoyed this film quite a lot. It's a Disney film, and most people do enjoy Disney made films.

This movie is about another one of Tinkerbell's adventures, where she finds a long lost sister in the Winter Lands. Where warm fairies cannot go.

Yet, she breaks that rule, as she does with most other rules. And meets Perriwinkle.

A winter fairy, who specialises in frost. They both create a bond rather quickly. And do show characteristics of two sisters.

I loved this film, quite honestly because it's not something that has been done before. And every Tinkerbell film is like this.

Thought to the younger viewers it may be a bit confusing on why we didn't see Perriwinkle in the first Tinkerbell film, where we see Tink born from the laugh.

But other than that, the film is most enjoyable.
